Cookie Policy

This page lists the cookies and browser storage used on this website and why. We do not use advertising cookies or sell data collected through cookies.

Sign-in (Clerk): __session, __client_uat and related cookies keep staff and admin accounts signed in. Our sign-in provider may set them when a page loads, including for visitors who never sign in. During testing you may also see __clerk_db_jwt.

Bot check (Cloudflare Turnstile): loaded only on the sign-in form to prevent automated abuse.

Abstract access (bgmc_abstract_…): created when you save an abstract submission so you can reopen it and resume payment without a public link. Lasts up to 180 days.

Recording access (video_access_…): created when you enter your email to open an event recording. Removed when you close your browser and valid for at most 3 hours; limited to that event's pages.

Your measurement choice (bgmc_measurement_choice): remembers whether you allowed or declined website measurement. Lasts up to 90 days.

If you choose "Allow measurement", we set bgmc_measurement_session (expires after 30 minutes without activity) and bgmc_measurement_visitor (up to 90 days) to count page visits, button use and form progress. Choosing "Use essential only" sets neither and deletes this browser's retained measurement records. See the Privacy Policy for details.

bgmc-lang (local storage) remembers your English or Chinese preference.

bgmc:event-welcome:… and bgmc:video-popup:… (session storage) remember that you already closed an announcement popup during this visit, so it doesn't reappear. They are cleared when you close the tab.

Change your measurement choice at any time with "Measurement preferences" in the footer. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the public pages will still work, but sign-in, saved abstracts and recording access rely on the cookies above.
