Margaret L. Bauman's perspective centers on developmental neurology and autism across the lifespan. Her contributions to autism research and interdisciplinary care connect medical understanding with the needs of people at different life stages.
Dr. Bauman is a pioneer of autism neuropathology research. She spent much of her career at Harvard Medical School and Massachusetts General Hospital, and founded the LADDERS Clinic for neurodevelopmental care and rehabilitation.
In 2011 she received the International Society for Autism Research's Lifetime Achievement Award. Dr. Bauman has spent decades championing an interdisciplinary, medicine-education-integrated model of intervention that has contributed to establishing autism clinical-rehabilitation pathways worldwide.
